Outgoing US President Donald Trump interacted with the media on the South Lawn of the White House before boarding Marine One on Tuesday. While claiming that he wants "no violence", Trump alleged that the proposal to impeach him is causing "tremendour anger" in the nation.

Asked about the impeachment bill likely to be brought against him by House Democrats, Donald Trump termed it a "really terrible thing that they're doing."

Trump, however, went on to add, "We want no violence. Never violence."

Reiterating his stance, Donald Trump said the prospect of impeaching him, again, is a "continuation of the greatest witch hunt in the history of politics".

This was Trump's first appearance before the media since his supporters stormed the US Capitol building earlier this month. The violence that ensued led to the loss of five lives.

Following his interaction with the press, Trump left for Alamo in Texas to inspect the US-Mexican border wall.

A resolution urging Vice President Mike Pence to invoke his constitutional authority under the 25th Amendment and remove Donald Trump from office before the end of his term was blocked by Republicans in the US House of Representatives on Monday. Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D) confirmed that House Democrats are drafting articles of impeachment for Donald Trump.

US President-elect Joe Biden is slated to succeed Trump on January 20.
