Belgium became the second team after Italy to qualify for the Euro 2020 round of 16 after they came from behind to beat Denmark 2-1 in their second match of Group B in Copenhagen n Thursday.

This was Denmark’s first game since Christian Eriksen’s collapse in their last game. Eriksen remains in a nearby hospital after suffering cardiac arrest in the team’s opening game against Finland.

Both sides' fans and players participated in a tribute to Eriksen before kick-off as a giant Denmark shirt with the player's name and number 10 was displayed on the pitch at the Parken Stadium.

The two teams then stopped for a moment's applause in the 10th minute and the Danish crowd unfurled a banner saying: "All of Denmark is with you Christian".

The game then started with a bang as Yussuf Poulsen scored the second quickest goal in Euro history to put Belgium ahead in just the second minute. Russia's Dmitri Kirichenko holds the Euro record for the fastest goal against Greece in Euro 2004 after 67 seconds.

Denmark dominated the first half but Belgium held their nerves and hit back in the second half with goals from Thorgan Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne to secure their second win of the competition.

Belgium lead Group B with six points and became the second side in the tournament along with Italy to clinch their place in the last 16. Denmark have yet to earn a point and will need to win their final game against Russia and hope it is enough to get them through.
