The Uttar Pradesh Police arrested two people for violating Covid guidelines while celebrating the results of the Panchayat Polls in the state. Hapur Police shared a post on Twitter and said that 20 kilograms of rasgulla were seized from the two people, who distributed sweets to gatherings following the announcement of the results.

As India is reeling under the deadly second wave of Covid-19, the Election Commission had asked states to refrain from celebrating after the results were announced.
