The footage shows the ambulance was almost at the toll plaza when one of the operators manages to pull out the last barricade.

But then the ambulance tyres lost traction, skidded off the road and crashed into the toll booth cabin.

"Two people died on the spot and one died at the hospital. The ambulance lost control when it came near the toll plaza. We are verifying the facts. The ambulance belongs to a private hospital," an Udupi police official said.
